A deep, crimson red colour with dark red berry fruit, red liquorice florals and pepper on the nose. Complexity from the small new oak component sits perfectly in the background on the palate. Savoury, long and finely tuned without being heavy, dense or dry. A classic Hawke’s Bay Syrah with the structure that will allow it to age for at least 10 years.

2021 Global Fine Wine Challenge

95 | Bouquet of red mulberries, cracked pepper with vanillin overtones. Medium bodied, lovely fresh acidity, firm chalky tannins and a thread of cracked pepper complexity.

87 | Plum, Cherry and toasty oak. Fresh easy drinking medium bodied style with soft tannins and red fruit persisting.

90 | Black pepper dark chocolate cedar aromas and flavours, fine supple textures. finishes leafy peppery.

94 | Gorgeous black pepper spice. The palate has excellent density with composed fruit characters. There is a faint, pleasant savoury undercurrent. A highly impressive wine.
