Entry fees & important information for the 2025 Global Fine Wine Challenge
Entry fees & important information for the Global Fine Wine Challenge (GFWC) follows below. By proceeding to enter, you are agreeing to adhere and be bound by the terms & conditions of the Challenge:
Entry Fees:
- Costs per entry is AUD $330.
- Entry fees include all applicable taxes and all costs associated with handling, warehousing, re-packaging, export documentation, international freight, customs clearance, duties payable, administration, storage, stock management and photography once received into our warehouses.
- You must send in a minimum of 6 bottles per entry.
- You are submitting your entries to the Global Fine Wine Challenge before or at the time of the dispatch of your bottles.
- Please Note – you can only enter the wines invited to participate. If you would like other wines to be considered or have a different vintage to the wine requested, please let us know as soon as possible – ross@globalfine.wine. We are always open to alternate suggestions and additions.
- Entries are submitted on-line through the DrinkMe Digital platform. Entry Fees must be paid on-line by credit card. By special arrangement we can accept bank transfer which will incur a bank fee charge. Entry Fees paid by direct transfer must clear into Global Fine Wine Challenge Bank Account before the entry in respect of which the Entry Fee has been paid, will be judged.
- Entries must be final finished labelled wines and of the vintage entered, completely bottled when submitted. Tank samples will not be accepted as entries into the Challenge.
Freight:
- Wineries must cover the costs of their own freight & insurance during all freighting periods between their cellar door / warehouse and the nominated collection point in Vancouver / Los Angeles / Cape Town / Auckland / Sydney. The Challenge covers all other costs from this point onwards.
- Absolute closing deadlines for stock receipt are detailed on the website. Note – the deadlines published are for stock received into the respective warehouses – this means that stock must be sent well in advance of this deadline. It is the Entrant’s responsibility to ensure that they deliver the entries to the respective depots before these deadlines. Please DO NOT leave this until the last minute to organise and dispatch.
- Freight information sheets will be emailed automatically upon submission and payment of entry fees to each participant with specific information pertaining to each entry contained therein. Please check your junk / spam mail folder for an email from Drinkme. Digital if you dont receive an email immediately upon successful entry submission and payment. Please ensure that these labels are printed, completed in full and QR codes scanned prior to stock dispatch. Please ensure the freight info sheets are securely attached to each box(es) before dispatch.
-
PACKAGING: Where possible, Please DO NOT USE large airfreight cardboard boxes to ship your wine. These vastly increase the cubic space of the shipment, thereby increasing the costs incurred. Airfreight space for global shipping is at a premium at the moment, and rates are 5 times higher than normal. Please use standard sized packaging and pack the bottles securely where possible. Your assistance with this is appreciated.
VERY IMPORTANT: Due to the current global freight and logistics delays, we have a much shorter collection period than in previous years. Please note the strict freight deadlines which must be adhered to.
