The pedigree and provenance of this Shiraz vineyard is impressive. Ronald Angas planted the Mount Edelstone vineyard in 1912, from where cuttings were taken to establish the Hutton Vale Farm vineyards in the 1960’s. The Mount Edelstone vineyard was later sold to the Henschke family. Over the years the Angas’ sold their fruit to a number of top Barossa wineries where it found its way into many great wines, including those twice voted best Shiraz in the world.

89 | Strong oak and fruit. The oak is a little strong and the fruit a little ripe.

96 | Black berry and plum with nutmeg and vanilla spice aromas. Concentrated, well balanced wine with good complexity from oak and some bottle age. A lovely wine.

91 | Forward vanillin, toasty aromas. Big and bold and plush. Very chewy. Lacking the depth of complexity.

92 | Dark fruited, rum and raisin, touch old fashioned wine. Rich and ripe, velvety textured but a touch sweet with vanilla notes.
