This single vineyard pinot noir was made from selected grapes grown on the ancient sedimentary soil of the original McIntyre Vineyard. Veins of sand allow the roots to penetrate deeply into the clay subsoil. Made using simple, natural winemaking with a pinch of quality control including wild yeast fermentation. Dark cherry fruit is surrounded by spice, herbs and dark floral aromas and flavours. The wine has firm, velvety tannins and is tightly wound with great length and depth.

2021 Global Fine Wine Challenge

95 | Fragrant bouquet of chinotto, mint, eucalypt. Silky and plush, with bright acidity, tart red cherry and a long finish.

90 | Red and black berry fruits with vanilla and spicy oak aromas. Palate well balanced with general bramble fruits and vanilla oak on the finish.

93 | redcurrant red cherry fruits, fine chalky textures, some mineral notes.

88 | Red fruit plus a little mint. A tighter style. Good energy.
