89 | High toned green peppercorn aromas. The fruit is highly sweet fruited with herbal tones woven through the length of the palate. I feel that the wine is lacking a little freshness and would have been better a few years ago. It is of a particularly style though I find there is a mismatch between the herbal/leafy characters and the super sweet fruit. Long.
86 | past prime, savory ox, nutty the fruit is gone, savory sanguine tart finish, the structure outlived the fruit, I'm sure it was lovely when it was released.
95 | Brick-red edges, very mellow, mature bouquet of sweetly jammy crushed ants, fruit-cake, dried fruits, roasting pan juices. Full bodied and supple. Drinking superbly now.
92 | Black tea, stewed plums. Tobacco. Earth. Has such a strong liniment character. Chocolate raisins. A bit tough - chewy drying tannins. Falls away. Old school - would they make it in the same way today?
