Bartho Eksteen Houtskool Sauvignon Blanc 2019

An own design after many years of research on terroir, origin of fruit, barrel-size, -age and cooper craftsmanship, to find the barrel best suited for the wine I had in mind. A style which rewarded me with Diners Club Winemaker of the Year, Cape Winemakers Guild Action success, Tim Atkin 95+ awards and five-star Platter’s status. This complex cool climate wine has benefited from time in the bottle and displays a mélange of orchard fruit, laced with tangy citrus zest and a hint of mineral salt from the proximity of the vines to the ocean. Terrific backbone of natural acidity is in harmony with pristine fruit and bodes well for aging.
