Careful site selection, expert picking decisions, delicate fruit handling and astute blending are the hallmarks of his Marlborough Province wines. Simon is an advocate of sub-regional expression in Marlborough and chooses to highlight the character of these sub-regions in his Valleys range, with wines from the Awatere Valley or the Kekerengu Coast. Simon’s Vineyards wines are selected from smaller parcels of fruit and showcase alternative winemaking techniques with a focus on texture and complexity.
