The result is distinctive, and of distinction. Bin 149’s name is derived from the percentage of South Australian cabernet sauvignon synergistically woven into the blend. Napa Valley regional sourcing seeks to showcase strong tannic foundations, dark fruit intensity but with the added dimension of a unique “worldly” disposition. Matured in French and American oak, this release highlights Penfolds commitment to quality and winemaking approach.

2022 Global Fine Wine Challenge

93 | Blackberry, mulberry and black currant flavours. The wine is quite bold. Structural tannin.

93 | Black olive, cassis cola aromas with vanilla notes. Sweet fruited wine with ample dark berry fruits, dense chalky tannins and new vanilla and cedar oak complexity. Still elemental but should develop very well.

92 | Very overt vanillin toast aromas with lashings of blackberry confit. Big and bold with very overt vanillin oak dominating the palate.
