Simultaneously powerful and refreshing, the 864 Cabernet consistently exemplifies what the Yarra Valley does so well. Made from fruit planted in the grey alluvial soils of our Coldstream estate in 1996. Four weeks on skins and post fermentation, 15 months in 40% new oak barrels. A cellar-worthy cabernet vintage of exceptional quality.

2023 Global Fine Wine Challenge

88 | Restrained. Not as fruit-focussed as some but with a very appealing savoury edge. A crisp, bright wine, maybe lacks a little intensity

90 | Tamarillo, raspberry, herbal/aromatic and full-bodied, lashings of mouth-coating powdery tannin. Very drying. Needs protein!

89 | mineral tension, rocky essences, pencil lead, sticky tannins, firm red and black fruit skin, spicy finish food friendly , commercial appeal
