From one of the best Yarra Valley vintages of the last two decades, the pristine, expressive and genre-leading 864 Chardonnay is sourced from the Funder and Diamond vineyard (Drive Block), planted in Wandin East with the P58 clone in 1990. Hand picked and whole-bunch pressed to French puncheons (20% new) for fermentation and 10 months’ maturation before another six months in tank.

2023 Global Fine Wine Challenge

93 | A well made complex nose with attractive sulfide influence on the nose and palate. I would have liked to have seen a touch more fruit.

94 | LY. Very reserved, shy, but fresh aromas, latent. Cashews. Same in mouth: delicate, restrained, latent and promising more in time.

95 | Attractive subtle chardonnay; some just ripe peach/nectarine. Oak = restrained. Quite a lean, tighty wound style, but deceptive. There is good concentration and the finish surprisingly lengthy.

89 | balanced fresh expressive citrussy and pure, lemon pith yellow skin med bod balanced and clean uncomplicated finish . nicely made
