Ferguson is L’Ecole’s pre-eminent Bordeaux blend, in keeping with our reputation for excellent single-vineyard wines from the Walla Walla Valley. Ferguson reflects the unique terroir expression of its microclimate and geological site. Ferguson Vineyard is a stunning, high-elevation site overlooking a panoramic view of the Walla Walla Valley. With 30 planted acres, vines are rooted in fractured basalt rock from 15-million-year-old ancient lava flows overlaid with a thin layer of wind-blown loess. The vineyard and this wine are Certified Sustainable and Certified Salmon Safe.

2023 Global Fine Wine Challenge

90 | Vanilla, berry, chocolate coated berries, cheek-sucking tannins. Very grippy, unbalanced.

95 | Not showing very much on the nose, some black fruits but looks more subdued than some of the other 2020s. Lovely sweet fruit, a big bold palate with a dusting of tannins. Long finish.

91 | firm, rich structured palate with layers, spice, earth and dusty red and black fruit tones, structured lingering and spicy finish, smartly blended and made.

95 | The nose is quiet and restrained. Focused red fruit. Gorgeous acidity. Medium bodied. Balanced acidity and tannin. The palate is expansive in its flavour, not its weight and the wine has good persistence.
