A cornerstone red of the Finger Lakes Region, Blaufränkisch is a red grape of central European origin that grows happily in the relatively cool Finger Lakes terroir. We’ve grown this variety on our estate vineyards since 2001. It produces wine with vibrant dark berry aromas and spice notes. We perform daily rack-and-returns (dèlestage) and morning and evening punch-downs to create richer color, flavor, and tannin structure in the wine, resulting in a finished product with greater depth and complexity of flavor.
Dazzling ruby in the glass, with developing notes of bright cherry and spice on the nose. Medium-bodied with well-defined notes of blackberry, bright red cherry and thyme on the palate. Light tannin with subtle smoke and delicate spice on the finish.
