A wine from Howard’s vineyard located on the edge of the Ahuriri Estuary at Bay View. This former seabed uplifted by the 1931 Hawkes Bay earthquake shines through in the saline mineral character of the wine grown upon it.

2023 Global Fine Wine Challenge

90 | Great flavour which builds as the palate progresses though the oak is quite intrusive.

92 | Sawn timber oaky nose, palate lean and crisp with frisky acidity and grapefruit/lemon. Nervy and refined. Future.

95 | cereal grain, oatmeal lemon yellow apples, fresh character balanced acidity and freshness, oak and complex finish. yum! I want more

92 | An exotic nose; curry leaf and roasted cumin. Aromas of ripe banana and peach. Palate has plenty of concentration with ripe stone fruit, new oak and generously fruited. A big, powerful style but done well.
