This proprietary Shiraz-led blend takes its name from the bloodline of Black Angus cattle bred on Boschendal. The wine is full-bodied with black pepper and cherry flavours on the nose and a rich and complex palate. Delicious oak spice and a typical cool-climate Syrah pepper persist onto the palate, which is young and lively, combining juicy Shiraz purity of fruit with restrained Old World elegance.

2023 Global Fine Wine Challenge

84 | Deep, VG colour; funky aromas, something weird happening here. Porty/overripe. Chewy, tannic, drying, lacks fruit depth and sweetness.

94 | Fleshy and meaty. Biltong. Quite dry and savoury. I do like the reserve of this wine, and I love that it is not over fruity.

90 | Irish stew. Red fruits, some ripe silky tannins but not much personality.

87 | reduction, mineral rocky tannic edge could use some work on creating better balance and seamlessness as a whole...
