Complex and concentrated with notes of dense dark brambly fruits, a distinct savouriness and a charry spicy oak lift. A generous palate offers richness up front that is focussed and pulled into line by lovely silky tannins and acid structure reflective of the cool vintage. A wine of exceptional concentration, drive and length.

2023 Global Fine Wine Challenge

92 | Warm red cherry aromas. Morello cherries and a hint of tamarillo. The wine is a good mix of savoury and sweet fruit tones. Bitter cherry on the close.

95 | Deep colour with a good hue; big chocolatey nose, plenty of oak. Full bodied, voluminous flavour and drying tannins. Savoury, drying, ample and long. Sweet ripe fruit core.

86 | Big, extracted. Chewy tannins cloak palate. Doesn't seem to have developed at all but is sitting there stubbornly. Fades quickly on the finish.

89 | a touch past prime, firm tannins grip.
