The vines of the Rocky Knoll Vineyard grow on a north and south facing ridge within Amisfield Estate, where the Lochar soils are gravelly with a very thin layer of loose sandy loam, that naturally produces smaller berries and lower yields.

2021 Global Fine Wine Challenge

96 | Fragrant bouquet of red cherry, wild herbs, dried flowers, forest floor. Juicy, bright and lively, still very youthful. Silky tannins and a long finish.

95 | Spicy aromas. The palate has lovely generosity, yet it is still bright and lively. The palate is medium weight and the fruit is soft, with silky edges. I love the engaging nature of the palate. This is a delightful drink.

96 | Dark fruits, forest floor and oak and spice aromas. Lovely palate structure and balance with fine tannins and concentrated bramble fruits, vanilla and spicy oak.

93 | Medium bodied cherry stone, nutty fruits, fine bitter sweet textures and integrated acidity. Some viscosity but tannins win.
