Intrigued by its tastes, and the art and science behind its creation, John, whilst completing an Immunology degree, fell in love with everything about wine. After his first vintages at Brown Brothers in the mid 1990’s he never looked back and soon completed a wine science degree whilst gaining valuable cellar and winemaking experience in Western Victoria and also in Oregon. 8 years at Domaine Chandon, working with winemaking teams all over the world, the desire to create his own brand was ignited, and after moving back home to Ballarat and joining forces with his wine loving in-laws, the Mitchells, the Mitchell Harris wine story was born.
