Reustle Prayer Rock Vineyards ‘Winemakers Reserve’ Syrah 2020

91 | An engaging aroma with stewed plum accented by a little mushroom, woodsmoke and vanilla bean. The smokiness is very strong on the palate and is reminiscent of lapsang souchong. I find the smokiness too overbearing on the palate.

94 | Ground peppercorns, FB but slightly soft in the centre. Spicy/whole-bunch? Nice cuddly wine, plus lashings of tannins which are firm-ish but not astringent.

89 | spicy and slightly stinky on the nose, the palate is clean and correct, balanced, spic,y dusty red fruits and ends with a peppercorn and dusty spiced plum finish with hints of smoke. I want to like it more

90 | Very exotic. Mushroom, wood smoke, liquorice. Dark plum. Palate is overwhelmingly tannic which detracts - adds toughness, especially on the finish.
