The 2017 Cabernet Franc was made with fruit sourced exclusively from the Two Sisters Estate vineyard. Low yields and extended ageing in French oak barriques result in exceptional concentration and complexity in the wine. This all plays out with pronounced structure, as the acidity, tannins and alcohol create an elevated palate presence, weight and texture. To finish, a persistent character allows for lingering enjoyment of everything this wine has to offer. The 2017 Cabernet Franc is an expressive union of ripe dark fruit, sweet herbs, and an enticing spiciness. Pronounced notes of ripe blackberries and black cherries, tomato leaf, sweet basil and red peppercorn are evident on the nose. The palate is dazzling with flavour, texture and character. The very dark berry and cherry fruit harmonize perfectly with the notes of basil, sage and roasted red bell pepper. There’s a spiciness that accentuates the other flavours as hints of peppercorn and red pepper flakes season the taste of the wine.
