This full bodied complex Gimblett Gravels wine is widely regarded as being amongst the finest of New Zealand’s red wines, with a pedigree stretching back to 1989. Very deeply coloured it showcases the black fruit nature of Gimblett Gravels wines. Blackberry and dark cherry are complemented with aromas and flavours of tobacco and cedar. This is a powerful and ageworthy wine with excellent cellaring potential.

Classical cassis, cedar, dark chocolate aromas and flavours, fine grainy textures and plentiful cedar oak. Tannin plume at the finish.

  2. 98

Intense cassis, cedary bouquet. Beautiful palate structure offering fresh violets, blueberries, blackcurrant and plush supple tannins. Layered, complex and long.

  3. 89

A mix of red fruits and herbaceous notes. A little green pimento, sumac and rhubarb. Sour sobs on the finish.
