This classification is rare by name and by nature. This is the pinnacle of the Rutherglen topaques. It is the richest and most complete wine – displaying deep colour, intense fruit and ‘rancio’ characters, rich viscous texture and extraordinary depth of mellowed complex flavours. Complex marmite tea leaf, rancio aromas with espresso notes. Sweet rancio, tea leaf, butterscotch, treacle flavours and bright fresh liquorice notes

Bright. Ginger, lemon zest. Muscatels. Excellent bright acidity.

Inky black, green rim. Opens with treacle, molasses, hints of dried apricot. Very sweet with intense treacle notes, but lacking the layered complexity.
