Few wards in South Africa that can ripen Cabernet Franc properly like we do in the Banghoek Valley. Overripe and it becomes jammy – under ripe and it becomes herbaceous and vegetal. We use grapes from a single vineyard to create this delicate and harmonious wine. The nose explodes with scents of tobacco leaf, ferns, spearmint, raspberries and blackcurrant leaves. On the palate the tannins are firm and dry and the fruit weight elegant and delicate. The wine has good length and richness right through to the finish. A dryish but lengthy finish.

2023 Global Fine Wine Challenge

93 | Ripe, boiled sugar aromatics. The palate is super sweet and laden with blueberries, mulberries and cherries. A hint of pimento. Fleshy and sweetfruited. A fruit bomb. Warming on the close.

90 | Herbal, crushed leafy varietal nose, palate leafy and crunchy, a bit green and very varietal. Just ripe raspberries. Tannins are a little hard. Certainly very varietal raspberry/leafy.

95 | Boldly fruited. Lots of red and black fruits. Impressive layer of sweet vanilla oak. Generously fruited. Very polished and glossy

93 | I'm sure this wine will be controversial at the judge's table. But.... Classic red fruited ,savory herbal but not UR, ---undeniably CF-- with succulent and savory fruit and balanced pyrazines, long spicy finish, well done! I want more

2 | bold redcurrant. crisp cf. vanilla bean oak floral

3 | Sweet mulberry/vanilla nose, leafier style of cabernet franc drives it. A powerful and structured franc with lots of tannin.
