Handpicked from old, gnarly bush vines planted in 1889 in two acres of deep sandy loam soil over red-brown clay in the heart of the Barossa Valley. Year after year these ancestor vines give small quantities of exceptional grapes.

89 | Very light colour but good hue and viscous in the glass. Cherry bonbon aromas; sweet fruit and very light tannins. Truly a light-bodied grenache. Papery tannins dry the finish very effectively

86 | Strong orange bitters/raspberry notes. Crisp and crunchy but not particularly concentrated or complex. Straightforward red made in a lighter style.
