This stunning Syrah is a blend of two parcels from our vineyards in Hawkes Bay’s Gimblett Gravels. 2019 delivered wonderfully fragrant and intense Syrah wines. Dense purple hues lead to a perfumed nose of boysenberry, spice and violet. Ripe tannins encase concentrated fruit characters on a long and silky palate. Careful cellaring of up to 10+ years will reward with further complexity.

2021 Global Fine Wine Challenge

92 | Blackberry and herbal aromas with spicy oak. fresh acidity, well balanced tannin and oak. Good dark fruits on the finish.

94 | Brooding charry nose of blackberry and bramble. Big, full plush black plum, supple tannins. Good freshness and percussion.

96 | Aromatic dark berry, spicy, orates dchsnut vanilla aromas. Full bodied expressive wine with lovely density, fun vigorous tannins and ample new oak. Still in parts but should develop very well.

89 | The oak is a touch heavy for the fruit. Good fruit density and clarity.
