This wine was made from carefully selected grapes from a 38 year old single vineyard bush vine block, situated in the famous Stellenbosch area. Secondary fermentation and aging for another 315 days in new French oak barrels. The wine boasts a bouquet of yellow apple, white pear and hints of honey, with an appealing freshness on the finish. Opens with a smokey edge, hints of Chinese herbs. Round and rich, slightly broad and a touch phenolic. Lots of intensity, but somewhat brash.
