Van Biljon Cinq Bordeaux type blend has been meticulously crafted using grapes grown on our own small boutique Stellenbosch farm Tarentaal that is situated on the Polkadraai Road in the beautiful Polkadraai Hills. All 5 varietals, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Marlbec and Petite Verdot are all grown on our farm and we farm in pursuit of continuous sustainability. The wine is matured in carefully selected French oak barrels for 18 months, blended and bottled.

Our growing conditions are exceptional and ideal for our five varietals. The soil is a deep, fertile and well drained ancient granite soil with clay and quartz which is just perfect for our vines and we have moderating sea breezes off False Bay lying off to the south.
Our goal remains firmly set on producing a supremely top quality premium wine using traditional winemaking techniques combined with modern technology.
